About this series
Sunburn ran for 17 issues (1996–2001).
Publishing format: was ongoing series.
This was strictly a zine thing, so it was kept pretty simple. No ISBN/ISO (or whatever codes real comics follow). Inserts of more comics and zine info was often inside. There were a few special issues, so to speak, issues 11 and 15 were wordless comic issues, and #17 was the death issue.
Info from the publisher: "Well, for what it's worth, Sunburn started out as a city wide comic anthology, and somehow mutated into an international comic talent.
Apart from a few recognizeable names in the underground comic scene, most of the artists were "unknown", and like any anthology attempt, it was a pretty eclectic mix.
Throughout, my print run remained roughly around 300 issues.
It was a zine. period.
To be honest, apart from Stripburger, most comic anthologies don't impress me all that much.
Sunburn was my attempt at creating what I wanted to see in a comic anthology.
