About this series
Showcase ran for 104 issues (1956–1978).
Publishing format: was ongoing series.
Publishing gap between #93 (September 1970) and #94 (August-September 1977).
Before being cancelled, many future issues were in various states of completion:
\#105 was to star Deadman. The cover and story prepared for that issue appeared in the limited distribution [gcd_link_story](200446), and the story was published in a slightly-edited form in [gcd_link_story](203544).
\#106 was to spotlight the Creeper. The cover and story prepared for that issue also appeared in [gcd_link_story](200449) before being published many years later, along with a short text piece, in [gcd_link_story](957163).
\#104-106 was originally to present the World of Krypton. This feature was bumped to #110-112, due to the delay in the release of "Superman: The Movie," and eventually was released as DC's first limited series, [gcd_link_series](2496), in 1979.
\#107-109 was originally to headline the Huntress by [gcd_link_creator](10314) and [gcd_link_creator](6812), but according to Levitz, work never began on those stories.
\#107-109 was then to introduce a new western feature called the Deserter by [gcd_link_creator](4913) and [gcd_link_creator](3338). That feature was awarded its own series and then cancelled altogether, though one issue was prepared and published, along with a cover, in [gcd_link_story](199539).
\#113-116 was to debut a new version of the Suicide Squad by [gcd_link_creator](8167).
