Rush City (2006, DC)

Rush City ran for 6 issues (2006–2007). Publishing format: limited series. This new miniseries from DC Comics introduces a new hero (Rush) to the DC Universe, as well as introduce his car, the Pontiac Solstice GXP, to readers. The miniseries is part of a product placement deal between DC and Pontiac. As David McKillips, vice president of advertising and custom publishing for DC Comics told the Wall Street Journal, "The car will be as essential to the character as the Aston Martin was to James Bond." Newsarama Note: Perhaps something of a mini-phenomenon, Rush City will be the third comic project "starring" a car in the last few years, with Dark Horse's The Hire, comic versions of BMW's short films, and 12 Gauge's The Ride - which has no corporate connections.
