About this series

Phantacea ran for 6 issues (1977–1980). Publishing format: was ongoing series. The launching of the Cosmic Express section of Phantacea One was lettered and drawn by Dave Sim in 1977. It was partially redone by Ian Bateson in 1986 and published in Phantacea Phase One #1 (and only) in 1987. The Bateson-Sim version was reprinted in "Phantacea Revisited 1: The Damnation Brigade", which Phantacea Publications released in late 2012, early 2013. A couple of these pages were again reprinted in "Phantacea Revisited 2: Cataclysm Catalyst", which Phantacea Publications released in early 2014. Phantacea One was released in September 1977; Phantacea Two and Three in 1978; Phantacea Four in 1979; Phantacea Five and Six in 1980; the intended concluding issue Phantacea Seven was only partially completed and hence never released; Jim McPherson novelized most of the Phantacea comic book series over the course of a number of novels that have been released by Phantacea Publications in the 20-Noughts and 20-Teens. Parts of Phantacea One, Three, Four and Five were reprinted in "Phantacea Revisited 1: The Damnation Brigade". Parts of Phantacea One, Two, Four, Five, Six and Seven (unfinished, so hitherto unpublished) were collected in "Phantacea Revisited 2: Cataclysm Catalyst". Some of the reprinted material and the six unpublished pages originally intended for Phantacea Seven were digitally re-lettered by Jim McPherson in 2012 and 2013.
