For Beginners ran for 7 issues (1986–1986). Publishing format: was ongoing series. When the U.K.-based Writers and Readers Cooperative disbanded, one of its co-founders established Writers and Readers Publishing in New York and continued the For Beginners series there. U.K. editions of a few new titles and reprints of a few old titles were published by Unwin & Hyman in association with Writers & Readers before Writers & Readers reestablished their own U.K. imprint.
