Equal Treatment - Torment

The Equal Treatment in Goods and Services Directive 2004 of 13 December 2004 is a directive which prohibits both direct and indirect sexual discrimination in the provision of goods and services in the European Union. The directive entered into force on 21 December 2004, the date of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union, and member states were required to bring their national laws into conformity with it by 21 December 2007 at the latest. The directive was adopted on the basis of Article 13(1) of the Treaty establishing the European Community.
