Classics Illustrated ran for 27 issues (1990–1991). Publishing format: was ongoing series. Titles solicited on back cover of issue #27 but not published: Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne, The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane, The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells, Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne, and The Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper. The Kidnapped issue eventually saw print as Classics Illustrated (NBM, 2008 series) #16.
